  • Hot Shower Brain Dump: I crank the water way too hot (bad for skin, whatever) and just let thoughts ramble. Keep a cheap whiteboard in there for scribbling before it all evaporates.   • Middle-of-the-Night Ramblings: I wake up panicked at like 2am with half-ideas and just voice memo them in the dark. Slurred, embarrassing, but I’ve mined some gems from those later. Pure subconscious mind fuel.

Piecing Together My Own Mind Fuel Techniques Flow

My “routine” is barely a routine, but it goes something like:

  1. Force a total shutdown – phone off, lights low, 10 mins of nothing
  2. Flip it with sensory overload – loud nostalgic music or a random podcast
  3. Spew freewriting, no editing, just garbage onto the page
  4. Get outside, rain or shine (Chicago’s trying my patience this winter)
  5. Circle back and see what sticks

It flops half the time, takes forever other days, but when it hits? Magic. Or at least decent enough.
